Schools Mental Health Charter
The aim of our charter was to empower Island schools to support their communities so that we can increase mental health outcomes for all young Islanders. It was developed jointly with the Taskforce with the goal of encouraging a more cohesive approach to mental health and emotional wellbeing in schools across the Isle of Wight.

Every young person is welcome to join the Taskforce. It is a great way of improving confidence and self-esteem. Volunteering will enhance your CV and can be used to help achieve DoE awards.
The Taskforce meets in Newport at the Youth Trust Offices at least once a month, on a weekday evening. At Taskforce meetings we talk about issues facing young Islanders and explore ways of creating positive change – as well as eating pizza!
We have currently paused applications to the Taskforce until spring 2024, if you have any questions please email taskforce@iowyouthtrust.co.uk
