Welcome to the “Travelling Safe Space,” our dynamic Youth Social Action Project. This incredible opportunity has been envisioned and led by the brilliant young minds that make up our vibrant community. With inclusivity at the core of our mission, we are dedicated to establishing a secure and inviting haven for young individuals aged 11-24 on the Isle of Wight.
Our purpose is clear: to empower our youth by nurturing life skills, bolstering confidence, and instilling pride in our remarkable community. Through an array of captivating activities, engaging events, and meaningful projects, we encourage young people to actively shape their personal growth and contribute to the enhancement of our shared home.
Generously supported by Children in Need, we have taken up the challenge of addressing the unique hurdles faced by young individuals on the Isle of Wight. The reins were handed over to our Social Action Development team, along with the Youth Voice and Taskforce, who ingeniously crafted the project known as “The Travelling Safe Space.” This initiative embraces inclusivity through island-wide events tailored for young people aged 11-24.
Our endeavour is dedicated to fostering confidence through immersive workshops that enhance vital life skills. We are committed to combating isolation by creating a strong and supportive network that ensures no young person feels alone.
“The Travelling Safe Space” is a welcoming haven for any young person living on the island between the ages of 11 and 24. Whether or not you are part of our Taskforce, you are warmly invited to join us. Bring along friends and peers – the more, the merrier! Together, let’s forge a brighter path for our young people on the Isle of Wight.
