Celebrate Isle of Wight Day and get moving for mental wellbeing with the Youth Trust.
On Saturday, 24 September, The Isle of Wight Youth Trust will be joining in with others across the Isle of Wight to celebrate the things that make our Island hope great.
For 32 years, the Isle of Wight Youth Trust has proudly opened its doors to young Islanders in need of support. Last year over 800 children and young people accessed the Youth Trust’s one to one counselling service.
On Isle of Wight day we want to celebrate our hard work and the support we receive from the local community but, also make sure we’re promoting a healthy message to help local children and young people – that’s why we’re encouraging our fellow Islanders to join us and get moving for mental wellbeing.
We've got a range of activities organised for the day from yoga to cross fit and everything in between. Participants will be asked to donate £2 each to participate with all proceeds going to the Youth Trust. We'll be posting a full schedule soon.
Being active is great for your physical health and fitness, and evidence shows that it can also improve your mental wellbeing. We think of the mind and body as being separate but, what you do with your body can have a powerful effect on your mental wellbeing.
There are steps children, young people and their families can take in their own lives to improve their mental wellbeing including regular exercise is one such thing. But, sometimes we need extra help. The Isle of Wight Youth Trust provides extra support through professional, therapeutic counselling for children and young people all year round.
The Isle of Wight is a great place to live and we have a great supportive community.
Show your support and ‘Get Moving for Mental Wellbeing’ to improve your own emotional wellbeing whilst also supporting children and young people who need professional support by donating to the Youth Trust.
