GALA DINNER 2015
Preparations are well under way for this year’s SOLD OUT annual Gala Dinner which will take place on Saturday, 28 November at the opulent Royal Hotel. The seventh annual Gala Dinner is hoped to exceed last year’s record of raising a massive £55,000 for the Isle of Wight Youth Trust.
Since the first Gala Dinner in 2009, this event has become a favourite with local celebrities including Youth Trust patrons Rob and Josie da Bank and Level 42 frontman, Mark King. This event alone has astonishingly raised well over £200,000 for the Youth Trust.
The Royal Hotel has been a huge supporter of the Youth Trust for many years. This support has undeniably helped the Trust navigate a changing funding climate. The Youth Trust currently has to raise 70 per cent of its income, making support from businesses like The Royal essential.
At the Gala Dinner, guests can expect to enjoy fine dining and delicious wines all generously donated by The Royal Hotel. Additionally, the proceeds from the luxurious rooms of The Royal Hotel which are booked for overnight stay also go to the Youth Trust. The charity continues with a variety of prizes offered up for auction drawing even more funds for the Youth Trust.
These auctions have been known to inspire attendees to spontaneously offer amazing prizes for auction on the night. The highlight of last year’s Gala Dinner’s live auction was the opportunity to host an event at The Little Gloster for 100 people, with Youth Trust patron Rob da Bank DJ-ing. This unique item sold for over £10,000! Other items included in the auction were Twickenham Rugby Tickets, Vodka donated by Tipsy Wight as well as a stay at the prestigious Park Lane Hotel.
The auction at the Gala dinner raises the much needed funds for the Island’s youth who need support. This would not be possible without the generosity of local businesses. This year these will include: Robert Thompson, Bestival, UKSA, Wight Karting, The Garlic Farm, The Cabin, Goddards Brewery & Star Mystique Entertainment and many more.
We appeal to any local businesses who feel able to support this worthwhile cause to contact The Youth Trust. email@example.com
Eileen Monks OBE, Director of the Isle of Wight Youth Trust commented “We are so appreciative of the support the Gala Dinner receives. Not only does The Royal Hotel pull out all the stops; the food, drink and service are always faultless but, so many other businesses contribute to make the night a success. We cannot thank everyone enough for their generosity and on-going support – thank you”.
